Абстракт
Based on long-term observations, we studied the influence of hydrometeorological factors on phytoplankton biomass and chlorophyll-a concentration in conditions of the southern part of Kalamitsky Bay in spring in 2000-2021. Principal component analysis (PCA) and correlation analysis showed that increasing of phytoplankton biomass and chlorophyll-a concentration was associated with the combinational effect of such mechanisms ensuring the supply of biogenic elements to the study area, as water transfer from the northwestern shelf of the Black Sea, river runoff as well as coastal Ekman upwellings and deep water effect - Ekman pumping. Wind conditions, in particular, variations of north and southwest winds speed had the greatest influence on the interannual variability of phytoplankton biomass and chlorophyll-a concentration. © 2022 SPIE.
