Abstract: Based on the results of global oceanic reanalysis (GLORYS12.v.1), materials of hydrometeorological observations by the Roshydromet network in the Laptev Sea and mouth of the Lena River and reviews of ice processes in the Arctic Ocean by the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute, this paper considers the features of the evolution of the Lena Polynya on the estuarine nearshore of the Bykovsky Arm in the warm period 1993–2019. A relationship has been revealed between the timing of formation of the polynya in the nearshore of this arm with the dates of flood onset at the head of the Lena River Delta. The assumption is confirmed that the average growth rate of the Lena polynya in summer is determined by the timing of its formation: the earlier the flood begins, the earlier the polynya forms in the nearshore of the Bykovsky Arm and the smaller the its average growth rate. It has been established that warming in the mouth area of the Lena in 2008–2019 stabilized, since there are no significant trends in the water and ice regime characteristics. These patterns may be invariant for other river mouths of the Laptev Sea Basin, and the obtained dependences can be used to improve the forecast of dates of clearing of the water area from ice in the Lena’s estuarine nearshore nearshore and the planning of icebreaking navigation along the Tiksi port–Lena River route. © 2023, Pleiades Publishing, Inc.
